PAST
In our research we found that most existing stock trackers in the Google Gadgets library fall into one of two categories.
- Hardcoded, restrictive and sometimes full of ads and links to sites you don't care about.
- Complex, overly informative and often too bulky (not compact like a gadget should be).
Hesitant to just settle for either of those categories we decided to build a stock manager in hopes of finding a happy medium between flexibility and usability. And so, Stocks by W.a.R was born.
PRESENT
Here's how it works:
- Everyone starts with 3 stocks (instead of a boring, empty list).
- A simple one-touch control allows you to delete the stocks you don't need.
- The text field allows you to type the ticker symbols of the stocks you want to add.
- Every time you make a change to your list, your preferences are saved automatically.
- As long as you don't delete the "stock_list_preference" cookie, your list will be ready and waiting for you when you come back.
That's all there is to it. No logins. No configuration screens. No nonsense. That's just how we roll!

FUTURE
Here's some of what we have in store for future releases:
- Designer Themes for a little variety. With a few different color schemes and design improvements our goal is to keep your stocks looking fresh and clean!
- Optional Sign In for users who prefer to save their settings on our server instead of as a cookie.
- Multi-platform Release because the world is bigger than just google. Our goal is to make our stock manager available to Yahoo!, Facebook and MySpace users, among others.
- Customizable Embedding Options for developers interested in using our application on their own sites.
